Dr. Hastimal Sagara is an Assistant Professor of economics with the Faculty of Commerce. Dr Sagara did his doctoral studies titled “Growth and Transformation of Information Technology Sector in India: A Case of Gujarat” from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He possesses around 20 years of teaching experience at both UG and PG levels. His areas of research include information technology, labour economics, development economics and environmental economics.
He is a fine teacher and excellent motivator for his students. He already has to his credit one Major Research project on ‘Evaluation of MGNREGS in Gujarat and Rajasthan’ funded by the ICSSR, New Delhi during 2012-2014. For his contribution in the field of research, the GLS University Management awarded Dr Sagara with a Cash Prize of Rupees One Lac in 2015. He is an author of more than 10 books and has several research publications to his credit. He has presented numerous research papers in national and international conferences. He had received the Merit Cum Scholarship for standing among the top 0.1 per cent students in All India Senior Secondary School Examination in 1990.
