Astitva Theatre Club 10 Feb 2023

Basically, Astitva Club is all about Theatre and Drama activities. Here, you can represent yourself on stage and off stage and in both the ways you can get your Best. Deeply understanding the fact that Astitva Club is going to help you to create your own identity as the real one or we can say, fiction one. This club helps you to emerge and boosts your self-confidence and to determine yourself and your acting skills.

Along with this, Astitva Club helps to redefine yourself at each and every stage of your career at you level high. This Club is going to nourish all your skills and traits and make them more sharpen to implement for.

Activities:

There are several activities conducted by the Astitva Club for the members such as online video making competitions, individual skit makings, group skit makings, Social-awareness drama programs, Quizzes related to Theatre and Movie Industry, spell the fastest and make a story and lot more.

Along with this Astitva Club has filmed a short Thriller movie named ADRISHYA: LIFE GOES HELL and conducted various expert sessions in which the Club has invited the Iconic Star of Gujarati Film Industry MAULIK CHAUHAN (Hausle aur Raaste, Thai Jashe fame) and the most deserving personality RAUNAQ KAMDAR (Nadi-dosh, 21mu tiffin fame) for the nourishment of the skills and abilities of the Club members.

In 2021-22, Astitva Club has conducted more than 30 sessions (offline and online) in which club members have enjoyed a lot and still they are doing so. There are many reviews available on the Instagram page of our Astitva Club. So, this is all about the activities have been conducted by the Club.

Objectives:

• To enhance the acting skills and abilities of each and every club member.
• To encourage themselves to perform on the wider platforms.
• For the nourishment of their personality and individual traits.
• To aware them about the legacy of Theatre and its importance.
• Help them to work together in a group along with giving your best.

What are the upcoming ideas of Astitva Club and what we are looking for?

In upcoming years, Astitva Club is looking forward for conducting more and more events such as Stage Shows, Street Shows, mimes, skits and so on. Astitva Club has always welcomed the creative and talented minds.

Along with this we are going to perform many Dramas and Theatres ahead and going to glorify the actual beauty of Theatre Culture. Adding to this, we are going to help our club members to remove their fear of performing in front of mass audience and also to develop their individual identities. The Vision is to create and develop such strong competency so that members can recapitulate themselves and willingly participate in all the activities and the events ahead. At last, we are Thankful to Faculty of Business Administration for giving us the opportunity for handling this club and make it larger by its side.

Current Affairs Club 01 Feb 2023

The club which gives the person most important thing in the life and that is knowledge. Current Affairs Club is all about giving the correct and fruitful knowledge covering past, present and future hot topics which occurred or going to occur in the future. Current Affairs club make sure that student stay more aware of what is happening all around the world and we give them an open platform where they can keep their point of views because it is more important on today’s world that young people need to know what they are saying is being taken seriously by the people who affects the real change. Guiding students on how to understand fake news and different perspective of any issue or law.

Activities:

• Taking frequent sessions and making sure that students should stay updated about the world.
• Regularly posting stuffs on social media to make them know about each and everything
• Arranging expert sessions in the field of current affairs
• Arranging funny quizzes on various topics like budget, general knowledge, economic system, etc.
• Arranging debate on the above stated topics which also make students to involve more in the club and improving their speech.

Objectives:

• The main aim is to aware the members of the club about the world and make sure that they doesn’t get back in that.
• Co-relate with the happening of the past events.
• Know about the contemporary themes that are affecting the world in the present day.
• To promote the growth in desirable skills.
• To prepare a member of the club for better social living.

Dance Club

To the person who grooves to any sound played around, this club is as essential as water for fish. The music unites us and the urge to move to it creates liveliness in us.  The club provides you with an opportunity to learn through the people around you.

Dance is a performing art so you will be encouraged and supported to face the stage and bring out the best in you. The club provides you with sessions with experienced choreographers representing Ahmedabad. A lot of events take place throughout the year and with this comes our spirit to perform. Many students experienced in different styles form groups accordingly and bring gracefulness to the stage.

The dance club holds inter and intra-college competitions and the winners are also appreciated with certificates. They also get to travel to other cities and colleges in case of intra- college competition.

Dance is the only way that will keep you happy and focused - it will help you stay healthy in a fun way. We love how dance is a universal language: it doesn't matter where you come from, or what colour your skin is .dancing has a special power to connect people no matter their differences.

Finance and Economic club

A family cannot function without finance and for a country, good economic system is inevitable. Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA) brings the finance and economic club of the college. The club demonstrates the most crucial concept that is required in our daily life and that is Economy and Finance. The motive of our club is to gain as well as distribute the practical knowledge of not only Indian but also global economy, understanding how Indian economy functions, how to manage personal finance, understanding share market and crypto currency.

We plan to accomplish this goal through meetings, debates, group discussions, quizzes, events and much more interesting activities. Our major aim is to prepare you for future because some or the other day you will be managing the finance of your family, of your own company or any of the other organisation you might work in.

Activities:

• Understanding Share market, Mutual Funds, SIPs, IPO through various sessions.
• Learning and understanding about how to do trading in Share market, crypto currency and Forex market.

Sargam Music Club

College is not just about taking classes, giving exams, and getting good grades. In reality, it is about growing as a person, interacting with different types of people, and figuring out your interests. College clubs are beneficial for this. They offer extracurricular activities that break the monotony of classes and Sargam Club is one of a kind.

The Sargam Club is one of the active clubs run by the students in GLSBBA. Sargam Club of the college is led under the guidance of teacher mentors and student coordinators who spend every week an hour practising and enjoying music. Every year a bunch of new students are admitted to the club as the previous batch students pass out. The students are grouped into small groups according to their interest and talent for classical and western music and are groomed up. The Sargam club members take initiatives in building a good college image on various social media platforms. They also practise and present music concerts during several inter-college as well as in national level competitions held by reputed B-schools like IIM Indore and much more.

Sargam Club allows freedom of expressing their talent. It comes to students a lot more natural, and they go with their flow rather than sticking to a specific course. It gives students a chance to be more creative.  The connotation that there are no wrong methods in playing or composing it gives the student free rein which boosts their morale and overall productivity. Many activities have been carried out where students get a chance to sing or play instruments by dedicating it to their friends, many musical quizzes, experts sessions have been organised by the club in which Professional musicians share their knowledge

The college initiated this Music Club with the main motive to encourage students to showcase their crazy love for music and their talent for it.

Speakers’ Forum

The Speakers’ Forum is a club full of students who are enthusiastic in developing their own communication and people skills. We organize various fun and interactive literary activities which will make the students confident over the grasp of their language.

What Speakers’ Forum is about?

• Interactive, Inclusive and Uplifting Environment
• Regular sessions and activities that encourage consistent growth
• Staying Updated with current trends and news
• Developing confidence in genres of speech – Debates, Elocution, Storytelling and Poetry Recitation
• Getting better at daily interpersonal communication alongside other literary activities

Activities:

Last year, we had elocutions and Group Discussion like the ones you see when you go for an interview, to help us get our views across on an ongoing and popular trend or a topic. Some of the topics were controversial and revolved around mental health, Gender equality, and the farm laws. The main objective of having the Debates, Group Discussions and Elocutions revolving around controversial topics was to get the students confident in putting their foot forward, their best opinions on the table without being afraid of the counter opinions.

We had vocabulary-building sessions which helped to build a large vocabulary to help us express ourselves properly and communicate effectively.

We had an activity where we had the opportunity to change the ending of any of our favorite books/movies to boost our creativity. This encouraged us to read more and with all the new recommendations that we had thanks to our club mates.

We had various such activities where we had the students engage in spontaneous speaking with each other whether it might be through role play or simulation. The participants had to think fast and smart to get through it which of course cannot be taught in a textbook or a classroom but through trial and error and practice.

We had an Expert session with Ms. Pankti Pandey, founder of Zero waste adda, Tedxspeaker and an advocate for Sustainable consumption. This provided an opportunity for members to interact with a successful individual who is also an articulate speaker.

This year, we will be keeping up with the spirit of our club and organizing different activates from Debate competitions to improve our assertiveness, Role paying to improve our problem solving, decision making and personality assessment, Storytelling to make our use of language entertaining and relatable and many more like poetry recitation, tongue twisters for a fun engagement.

Conclusion:

Going up on the stage to speak can be intimidating for someone but the reason why the Speakers’ Forum is here is to help people like them. In our club, there’s no right or wrong way to communicate. The motto of our club is “All the great speakers were bad speakers at first”. Doesn't matter if you are a good public speaker or are afraid of going on stage, the club will help you to improve and to reach your best.

Behind The Scenes Club

The club tells about most important factors that is video making , video editing , poster/logo designing , photo editing , present making , camera angles and last importance of audio .

The BTS CLUB gives you the basic idea regarding camera and video editing  . also it gives knowledge regarding camera angle means how to place your camera while shooting basically it prepare for the cinematographer .also tells you about the video editing in that which app you can use for editing of video  and also gives tips regarding the video editing in step by step process .

Things to include in a behind the scenes video:

• Interview with key project participants, including personal tales, insider information, and a breakdown of the events through process.
• Photos and videos reels of the team interacting, developing aspects of the event and evaluating the events .
• Time – lapse photos via a video of the product being put together. At the end of the video, a call to action that connect it to the main event.

Activities:

• Taking frequent session and making sure that students should stay updated about the club.
• Arranging the regular session of the club and also doing expert session in the field of the BTS .
• Regularly posting stuffs on social media to make them know about what happening in the club.
• Also doing audio-visual activity during the sessions so that they get live experience.
• Arranging some funny activities related to club during the session.

Objectives:

Know about the camera and video editing skills and also about editing software.

• To give the best knowledge and co-relate with cinematographer that how they work.
• To give them a chance to enhance there inner skill regarding behind the scenes .
• And the main purpose of the club is to give best experience about the camera angles and editing software.

Sports

Sportsmanship mainly refers to virtues such as fairness, self-control, courage, and persistence. To imbibe these values, FOBA celebrates Sports through various events and activities.

The International Yoga Day (IDY) is celebrated every year on 21st June, which is celebrated all over the world. This idea was proposed by our honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. He said, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with you, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well-being.” We are happy to inform you all that after the pandemic, on 21st June 2022, on the occasion of World Yoga Day, students of Faculty of Business Administration assembled at the GLS campus to celebrate this event. Our Students participated in the event and practiced various Yoga poses as per the guidance of the yoga instructors sent by the University Yoga teacher.
